Text updates for your website

MAE-AI Solutions, LLC builds and runs websites for small businesses. When text updates launch, a client on our managed website service will be able to choose to update their site by text message: they will text a photo or a sentence to our number, we will draft the change, and they will approve it before anything goes on the site. Until then, updates are sent by email. This page explains how a client will agree to those texts and what they will get, so the program is described in full before the first text is sent.
Who will get texts
Only our own clients, and only the people they name. We will not text prospects, website visitors or bought lists, and we do not send marketing by text.
How you opt in
Once text updates launch, you opt in on paper or by e-signature when you sign up for the managed website service. The sign-up form has a separate, optional section for text updates. It is not ticked for you, and saying no does not change your service or your price: you can always send updates by email instead. To opt in, you tick the box, write the mobile number or numbers that may send updates and the one number that should get approval links, and sign. We then call you to confirm each number before we add it.
The wording on the form

What the messages will look like
Text updates are not running yet, so no one receives these messages today. Once they launch, texts will be replies to something you sent. There will be three kinds, and each one will start with our name. These are examples of what the messages will look like:

How often
Message frequency varies. You will get one or two texts for each update you send, and none when you send nothing.
Cost
We do not charge for texts. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier, for the texts and photos you send and the ones you receive.
How to stop, and how to get help
Reply STOP to any text and we stop texting that number. You get one message confirming it and nothing after that. Reply START to turn texts back on. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at [email protected] or (804) 391-0234. You can also ask us to remove a number at any time and keep sending updates by email.
What a text will and will not be able to do
A text will never change your website by itself. It makes a draft, and the approval link goes to the owner's number on file, not to whoever sent the text. A change to your hours, phone number, address, prices or service area is never approved by text: the owner confirms it by replying YES to an email. Texts from a number you did not give us are not acted on and get no reply.
Your number and your privacy
We do not sell mobile numbers, and we do not share mobile numbers or text message consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The privacy policy says what we store and for how long.
